In the US beginning, they called it CFS and the CDC Failed to respond

Meanwhile in the UK, it was known as Myalgic encephalomyelitis for a long time but it was supposed to be so rare it was called CFS when the masses started contracting it. In fact the PACE trial there explained a lot away via psychosomatic causes and mass hysteria but they probably followed the CDC's lead by the 1980's and the neurological illness defined by WHO called ME was finding a hiding place in archives in the UK too.
